The Zephyrus S is an ultrabook styled gaming laptop and is currently the world’s thinnest streaming laptop.
The Asus S has a sleek finish with brushed aluminum styling, with a metal on metal finish.
The Zephyrus is running an Intel Core i7 8750 CPU at 2.2 gigahertz, and 16 gigabytes of RAM, it’s powered by GeForce GTX 1070 MAX-Q graphics card.
The screen is 1080p that’s capable of displaying 144 Hertz.
On the sides of the laptop you’ll see; power input, USB-C, two USB ports, and a headphone jack, on the rear there is an HDMI out, and on the other side, you’ll see another USB port, and another USB-C.

The laptop has a forward shifted keyboard layout, which allows for venting of the hot air, cooler air gets pulled into the top of the laptop from the keyboard and sucks through to cool the device.
Great Sounding Speakers
The back speakers on this laptop are pretty hefty; the speakers are impressive; they’re very loud and pretty decent, one downside to using them is the microphone picks up the sound.
If you’re using any in-game voice, your friends will hear the sounds of the games you’re playing, and if you’re streaming, it’s also a problem.
Another problem we found is that fans can get quite loud under load, there are various modes where you can switch between, but they do get very loud quickly.
The Zephyrus uses a membrane star keyboard, it’s not a mechanical gaming keyboard, so it’s quite easy and comfortable to use.
It’s very comfortable to type on, and it works very well for streaming and other things.
The trackpad isn’t in the usual place; it’s not at the bottom because of the forward shifted keyboard layout, the trackpad is on the side of the keyboard.
The touchpad is quite narrow, but it’s also pretty good, we don’t recommend using it for games, it also doubles as the Numpad.
The laptop does get very noisy if you’re using it on your lap; it also gets hot, which will be helpful in the winter, but not great in the summer.
Excellent Cooling System
The cooling system on top sucks in a lot of air, and it should do an excellent job of cooling, or you can turn the fans down.
The webcam is only capable of doing 720p footage, but it’s more than capable of being used for Skype conversations or streaming broadcasts.
The sound from the speakers is excellent, the webcam’s not great, the microphone isn’t fantastic either, but if you plug in your mouse, and your headset, you’ll have a happy experience.
The battery life is very short, you’re going to get about half an hour streaming, and about an hour without it plugged in.
Overall, a reliable gaming laptop that will be great for streaming. The cooling is exceptionally well done.
